bloom intake
allow me to break the fourth wall and say
this current setup is temporary. i'm actively exploring better client portal options to seamlessly integrate my quizzes and give you personalized content in the future. for now, i'm using wix forms, so thank you for being here at the beginning with me!
about the intake process
i understand it might seem a bit extensive, but this process is designed for your benefit. by completing these steps, i can condense a comprehensive 60-minute intake session into a concise 15-minute appointment complete with some solid recommendations for you. while you're welcome to schedule a consultation without completing the quizzes, please note that going through the process as intended ensures you receive the most accurate and tailored recommendations.
please complete all three quizzes if possible. they each have around 10 straightforward questions. if you only complete one, make it the five elements quiz.
after you've finished the quizzes, i'll send you two intake documents via email. once i receive those back, we can schedule your free consultation!
not intended to be used as diagnostic tools.
take the quizzes
while these are intended to be fun and educational, i also created them to be time-saving tools. they can inform us about your potential constitution and imbalance(s) and therefore serve you in figuring out which kinds of herbs will work best for you.
ayurveda is a natural system of medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. the prakruti is our constitution since birth, or how we are by nature. vikruti is our current state, often referred to as our imbalance. take the prakruti first.
the five elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. In TCM, each of them is associated with certain body organs, a colour, a taste, an emotion, and a season of the year – among other things! this quiz will help determine your primary elemental constitution.
the end goal
the six tissue states in traditional western herbalism are: 1. heat/excitation, 2. cold/depression, 3. dry/atrophy, 4. damp/stagnation, 5. tension/constriction, and 6. relaxation/atony. these can be thought of as patterns of imbalance that inform us of our inner terrain. you can think of ayurveda and TCM five element theory as energetic models. the six tissue states are part of another energetic model (with its roots in Greek medicine, among others). with the results of your quizzes and in talking to you about your concerns, we can infer your current tissue state, make comparisons between the energy systems, and come up with a solid, comprehensive plan to get you back into balance.
